London City to Oxford

The Breathe Life End to End Team Cycle Challenge is th first relay lands End to John O Groats (LEJOG) cycle challenge that starts at sunrise in Cornwall on September 22nd and ends in Scotland at sunset two weeks later.

Joining the team, whether that is for 20, 50, or 100 miles or for the entire journey means becoming part of a community of philanthropic riders and volunteers committed to breathing life into supporting research and action to prevent and treat rare lung cancers - increasing quality of life and survivorship of suffers, providing care and wellbeing support for affected families, and supporting the campaign for clean air.

The benefit to you is threefold: to improve your own health, to improve the lives of others and to improve the quality of the air we breathe via fundraising.

The London to Oxford Breathe Life Challenge Segment begins in Regents Park where we will meet at London Zoo at 6.30 before heading out for six laps around the park and  then meet later at 8am to head West to Brunel University London and on to the royal counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. We are appealing to members of cycle clubs, families and groups of friends and supporters who are willing and able to join in for relay sections of this ride, to help us raise awareness on this stretch. 

Approximate times: Start: Regents Park (London Zoo) approx 6.30 am- Ride 6 laps around the park. After coffee at Regents Cafe and Bar - 8am start - we will ride 20 miles to Brunel University London, 30 miles to Burnham Beeches or 40 miles to Marlow (Resolute Cafe). We will leave Marlow approx 12.30 pm - for a short 10 mile hop to Sonning (Coppa Club), and a further 10 to Goring (Swan at Streatley). The brave can continue on for another 25 miles to finish in Oxford (Hawkwell House Hotel)

As a team member, you are welcome to join us for all or part of this route  "passing the baton" on as you leave us. When we  reach Oxford, the End to End team will rest until sunrise. The exact routes are not cast in concrete and we are open to ideas and suggestions, particularly if you are a member of a cycle club team and have a preferred route through your county.

There will be support vehicles at each stop. Registration is free. T-shirts and cycle jerseys are optional and are £25 (includes a branded t-shirt ) or £50 (includes a branded cycle jersey). Support (includes transport for luggage if you are staying over at the destination) and route information. We welcome donations, 100% of which will go to the chosen charities
